Sicoya offers its customers low cost, power efficient, and scalable optical transceiver chips for server interconnects.
Sicoya, founded in January 2015, is a spin-off from TU Berlin based on nine years of continuous R&D in Silicon Photonics. Our team consists of five founders and an experienced team of currently 25 employees. Sicoya‘s disruptive innovations in silicon photonics allow for low cost, low power data transmission at high volume. We will enter the market for data center interconnects in 2017 with a 100 Gb/s transceiver chip with integrated electronics and optics on a single chip. Our vision: High-speed Silicon Photonics interconnects in next generation data centers to enable entirely new internet services
Sicoya raised 4.9 M€ of non-repayable public funds. We received several Start-Up awards – Gründerwettbewerb IKT Innovativ, OptecNet Startup Challenge, Deep Tech Award, and StartUp+. The core technology comprises the worldwide smallest silicon modulator. In 2015 and 2016, we closed a Series A venture capital funding round of 4.5 M€.
