Sicoya, founded in January 2015, is a spin-off from TU Berlin based on continuous R&D in Silicon Photonics since 2007. Our team consists of five founders and an experienced fast growing team.
Sicoya‘s key value proposition:
+ Silicon Photonics semiconductor chips for telecom and datacom
+ Integrate both photonics and electronics on one chip
+ Significant cost, power and size reduction
+ Fabless; production in outsourced external foundry
We entered the market for data center interconnects in 2017 with a 100G transceiver chip with integrated electronics and optics on a single chip. Sicoya received first purchase orders for qualification units and prepares customer samples to major datacenter players. Our vision: High-speed Silicon Photonics interconnects in next generation data centers to enable entirely new internet services
Sicoya received several start-up awards – Gründerwettbewerb IKT Innovativ, OptecNet Startup Challenge, Deep Tech Award, StartUp+, European Photonics Start-up Challenge and Start-Up Energy Transition Award. The core technology comprises the worldwide smallest silicon modulator. We closed a Series A funding round with venture capital investors and business angels.
